Awards of Excellence Application
The Associaton of Youth Councils invite Youth City Councils to complete an application for an "Award of Excellence." Each year applications are reviewed by a panel of judges from the Association of Youth Councils, Utah State University Extension, and the Utah League of Cities and Towns. Youth Councils receiving 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place "Awards of Excellence" are recognized during an Awards Banquet as part of AYC Leadership Institutes. Councils are judged on their contributions to their communities; involvement with other community groups to promote citizenship and an understanding of local government; overcoming difficult or extra-ordinary circumstances; and for demonstrating competence and fostering a positive image for youth among peers, elected officials, and citizens in their communities. Every year the deadline for submitting an application is January 31st.
